Archaic Bronze
In the pre-dynastic period of Chinese history known as the Archaic period (1900 BC-221BC), skilled metalworkers were creating bronze vessels like these for ceremonial use and as burial offerings.
The example here was most likely made in Japan sometime in the middle of the 20th Century and is 15 1/2 inches tall.
