Deco-Rate

Two early career Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) pieces from his long tenure with Rörstrand, The Swedish factory he is most closely associated with. Because the marks do not include the word "Sweden",  we know these to be from the 30s or 40s - as they didn't start marking the country of origin until after 1951. The concentric circle motif reads very deco to my eye. Lovely deep blue/green glaze on heavy stoneware. Very handsome as a pair.
