Recently acquired from a private Swedish Collection, we are pleased to present 3 Disko Metal sculptures by Just Andersen from the 1930s/40s.The tallest is just over 9 inches.
It was Disko Bay in Greenland that inspired the name for the special metal mixture that Danish silversmith
Just Andersen invented, disko metal. He took the recipe with him to the
grave, so although we don’t know the precise mix that made up the alloy, we
do know that it included certain proportions of lead, tin and antimony.
