The artist
Helen Beling (New York, 1914-2001) was once prolific on the
art scene, working with sculptors such as
Jacques Lipchitz, exhibiting
at the
Metropolitan and
Whitney museums in New York, and finding home
for her works in some of the most established collections in the
country. She worked in a variety of media including clay, stone, bronze,
stainless steel and a material she called Belplast, revolutionizing the
medium with her forms and process.
Our ceramic sculpture dates to the 1950s/60s and is 22 inches tall.
