Mari Simmulson could easily be considered the female Picasso with her playful, almost cubist, illustrative style of painting with glaze on pottery. Made for Upsala Ekeby, Sweden 1950s. Her girls always feel timelessly boho-chic to me.

French Fifties
In keeping with our color palette, a most gorgeous cubist mosaic topped box from the South of France, circa 1950s. Mixed media, ceramic, crackled glass glaze, and 24K gold decorates the lid atop a black wooden base. Totally artist made and one-of-a-kind. A real gem for holding your gems.

Towering Acheivement
One of my favorite 1950s patterns by Aldo Londi for Bitossi is called "Finestra", which translated from Italian means windows . Perhaps the reflective nature of the genuine gold decoration is key to the name. Measuring in at 16", this is a rather tall as well as pristine example from the line. The color combination just reminds me of the Mediterranean mix of the sky, flora, and deep blue Italian sea. But, it's the sunken lid that really tops it off for me!

Beautiful Big Bitossi
At 2 feet tall this is a fine and large example of mid 6os Italian high design by Aldo Londi for Bitossi, a textured unglazed dark brown natural clay top with a sandstone color glazed base make this one of the most appealing large vases in the shop right now.

Sunny Side Up
Perhaps frustrating for the regular reader...this piece was so special that it arrived in the shop today and was sold before I could even complete my blog post! "Seta" by Aldo Londi for Bitossi- the ombre coloration goes from chartreuse to charcoal with a bright yellow surface and, of course, the gold striations and rim.

Back in Barneys
Never has our glass been used in a more appropriate fashion - the key word being fashion! A finely curated collection, hand-selected by Neo-Mod maven Lisa Perry to coincide with the launch of her new housewares line. Premiering today in the Chelsea Passage section of Barneys New York's flagship on Madison Ave, comes a Summer-of-Love-ly collection of primary colored items to brighten your picnic, BBQ, garden party, or urban terrace get togethers. Our groovy glass and ceramics lend historic reference to the inner-workings of the creative mind of Lisa Perry and her always swinging pop-art style.

Deluxe Accommodations
On occasion we will be asked by an important interior designer, such as Nicole Fuller, to help stage an apartment to illustrate the luxury one might afford when investing in the rarified world of Manhattan real estate. These decked out deluxe apartments at 17 East 12th St are listed through Douglas Elliman, in case you have the inclination (and budget is no object), one could presumably offer to purchase these beautiful spaces fully furnished! All decorative accessories, vases, & sculptures provided by The End of History.

Showing Off The Show House
This year, we were doubly honored to be asked by not one, but two renowned designers, to contribute our vintage goods to their beautiful rooms at the 44th annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House which benefits the Boys and Girls Club. Above is Phillip Thomas' "Lady Lair" featuring a virtual alter to our 1950s Bitossi ceramic collection, an emerald green faceted Murano bowl, and an art deco Danish vase. Below is Timothy Whealon's dreamy bedroom accented by our 19th Century Japanese garden stools topped by a lavender Barbini Murano bowl.
If you can make it, it's well worth a visit!

Cover Story
Proving once again that our wares are glossy worthy, our friends at Time inc. have put us on the cover of Real Simple this month. Featured here is a brilliant, sunny colored Art Deco ceramic vase by Boch Freres, made in Belgium, circa 1920s and a cobalt colored Danish tile mirror from the 60s.

Goods for a Good Cause
We were happy to contribute once again to the 12th annual Design on a Dime benefit - an event in support of Housing Works, which provides housing to formerly homeless adults living with HIV/AIDS. Designer Andrew Suvalsky rallied his favorite vendors to contribute to the room above. We offered up the 1950s Italian gold lamps on the left, the large olive colored stopper bottle, and some the blue and green vintage glass and porcelain objects populating the shelves. The event was last week and a great success!

Towering Achievements
How lucky are we to find a trio of Aldo Londi's 'Seta' series - complete with golden stoppers in mint condition?! Made for Bitossi from 1957-1965. Seta is from the Italian word for silk. Rare to find one with a stopper, let alone three. The monumentally taller duo are around 26" and the center bottle is 17".
