Zoomorphic Modernism

This amazing pair of bowls are from the great Aldo Londi working for Bitossi in the 1950s. A wonderful pair of donkey headed bowls with color blocked interiors. Sold as originally only as a pair, the largest bowl is 16 inches diameter and both are in mint condition.

Triangular Triumph

A very large scale, one-of-a-kind piece by the hand of Eva Staer-Nielsen for Saxbo, where she worked from 1929 - 1968, placing this piece, circa 1950, at the very middle of her tenure at this Danish studio.
Hexagonal in shape, but with a most interesting and arresting element - the upright and inverse triangles the shape forms on the surface design.
A substantial piece @ 10" x 9.5"

Spring has sprung at The End of History - whether the weather agrees or not! We are feeling the need to brighten up the neighborhood with shades of yellow, green and blues of all hues.
Stop by and see the display in person and get a respite from all the slush that surrounds.

Fine French Finds

Moorish is more when it comes to these mid-century ceramics from a French artist named Georges Pelletier. We recently rediscovered his work and, of course, can't get enough. These ceramic dishes are meant for either hanging or for tabletop. The patterns and colors are modern yet reminiscent of Moorish tiles and rugs.
Approximately 3 - 5" Square

Stunning Stålhanes

Three just acquired items created by the hand of the great Carl-Harry Stålhane for Rörstrand, circa 1950s, Sweden.
The 11" greenish glazed vase has a lovely smattering of mottled details near the neck and the blue 7.5" vessle is perfectly periwinkle with a thin illuminated lip at the opening.
The just shy of chartreuse bowl is dizzingly decorated -  an impressive size at 13" in diameter

Pastel Platter

An Italian hand-painted dish, made expressly for hanging, with a rather gamine gal - very much in the manner of Audrey Hepburn - maybe even inspired by her role in 1953's Roman Holiday OR perhaps she's in Dior's New Look in gay Paris.
10" x 10"
