Victoire de Samothrace

The Winged Victory of Samothrace, also called the Nike of Samothrace, is a 2nd-century BC marble sculpture of the Greek Goddess Nike (Victory). Since 1884, it has been prominently displayed at the Louvre and is one of the most celebrated sculptures in the world.
Our bronze edition was sold at the Louvre in the 19th century and is 17 inches tall.
One of the most iconic movie moments of the 20th Century is when Audrey Hepburn poses in front of the statue in the 1957 movie Funny Face.

Egyptian Revival

It's always time for an Egyptian Revival as far as we're concerned and this one is from the late 60s.
A great clock by the world renowned Swiss firm of Jaeger Le-Coultre, maker of some of the world's most luxurious clocks and watches. This clock is in the form of an Egyptian lucite obelisk in the French Empire style. The gold metallic Egyptian scenes repeat on all four sides. Ten inches tall.

To The Point

One of the largest examples, at 22 inches, of this particular style of Murano decanter designed by Flavio Poli for Seguso in the 1950s that we have ever seen.
Interestingly the vast majority of these decanters with the long thin stoppers come from our contacts in the UK, they may have been made specifically for the British market or a British department store.

Italian Art Deco Revival

In the late 60s to early 70s there was a huge revival of Art Deco style in clothing and home design. The BIBA shop in London was one of the most famous manifestations of this craze that swept Europe and the rest of the world. This stylish Italian ceramic vase in shades of cream, gold and green epitomizes that moment perfectly. 12.5 inches tall.

Deadstock Delight

As fresh as the day they left the factory in Italy 50 years ago. We just unpacked these 10 Empoli cased glass bottles sent to us from one of our dealers in Europe, who found them in storage in the back of a gift shop in Belgium that had closed. Each one is 12 inches tall.

Return To Ecuador

Once again we are pleased to present two more examples of the work of one of Latin America's most celebrated living ceramic artists, Eduardo Vega of Ecuador. The pair of matching lidded jars both have a bottom part that is glazed in a dark bronze metalic gloss and the larger bowl, 7" diameter, has a stylized bird as it's finial. These pieces were most likely made in the late 60s, early 70s.

Pond Scum Green

This particular shade of green is really the same as the scum on the top of a pond but it's such a beautiful color. By Nils Thorsson for Royal Copenhagen, made in 1966. They call this glaze "Solfatara". 8 inches square.

Read All About It

A super rare and stylish Umberto Nason for Carlo Moretti drink set from 1955 with 6 glasses and an ice bucket, with Itaian newspaper decor in black fused into the glass.
We have never even seen a single glass in this design and I would recommend not using this set due to it's rarity and value but rather displaying it in your bar area or on your Paolo Buffa drinks cart.

Infinity Loop

A very stylish mid century bronze abstract sculpture on a black and white marble base, 14 inches tall.
Looks like something Don Draper might have won for campaign of the year.
Unsigned but most likely American circa 1960.

Major Murano

Although we can not say for sure who exactly made this very large, 17.5" tall, vase, it comes to us from a European collector and dates to the mid 20th century.

Giants of German Industry

We are not talking about BMW or Siemens here but Karlsruhe Majolika, the venerable ceramic studio established in 1901. Here we have a massive floor vase attributed to Friedegart Glatzle and dating to the early 60s, this 20 inch tall masterpiece is a rare and wonderful object.

Vistosi Blues

For 500 years the Vistosi family of Venice have been producing some of the most beautiful glass in the world. Today they are mostly known for their chic Murano glass lighting.
Some time in the 1960s these two 8.5 inch decanters were sold to a gift shop in Belgium where they remained in their original packaging until the shop went out of business and one of my contacts over there was able to purchase them.
Here they are seeing the light of day for the first time in 50 years and looking for a new home, as beautiful as the day they were made.

Etruscan Regency

From the hills of Tuscany circa 500BC to the Hollywood Hills circa 1960AD This is the definition of a very overused term "Hollywood Regency". Classicism meets modern (The Etruscans did not have access to lavender glazes) with a perfect timeless form.
Although unmarked we want to say Italy but it could also be American as it has a very Sascha Brastoff look to it. Nine inches tall.
